Heart-Bar® Hunting Services was started in 2003 by the Petty Family to allow others access to the outdoor wildlife that they have enjoyed for several generations. The Petty Family began ranching in South Texas over a hundred years ago and have operated their ranches in such a way as to preserve much of the natural habitat that supports a healthy and abundant wildlife population.
Heart-Bar® Hunting Services utilizes two of the Petty Family’s South Texas ranches for their hunting excursions—Los Amigos Ranch and Rancho Paisano.
Los Amigos Ranch is an active cattle ranch located approximately 45 minutes southwest of San Antonio in Medina County, Texas. The Family’s legacy continues and is apparent in their dedication and love for the land through the existence and preservation of native grasses, trees, rugged hillsides, and inspiring views.
Further south, in Zavala County, is Rancho Paisano. This 16,000-acre ranch is also engaged in the cattle business and sports rough terrain and beautiful countryside views. Domestic livestock as well as other exotic wildlife roam the ranch. The health and strength of the deer population is managed in conjunction with the Texas Parks & Wildlife’s Managed Lands Deer Program.
